With over 40 million unemployed Nigerians, we can no longer wait for the government to be the answer to our national problems especially with the spate of policy shocks and policy somersaults that continues to aggravate unemployment in the country. We have put up various life improvement programmes that will help the people have a means of productive living with which they can address their personal problems. We recognize that we can only change institutions first by changing individuals. It is only a change within that can generate a change without thus necessitating a paradigm shift in solving the poverty and unemployment problem facing Nigeria and its future.
These programmes include the annual Employment Summit in tertiary institutions; this has continued to generate massive results as we enlighten our undergraduates with knowledge, skills and strategies for escaping unemployment long before they leave the four walls of the school. We also make use of weekly internet teachings, books, seminars, career development programmes, entrepreneurship development, skill acquisition programmes and educating radio and television programmes such as THE EMPLOYMENT SHOW (showing on Lagos Television, Channel 129 on DSTV) to achieve our goal. We work simultaneously with the producers of human resources, that is, (the schools) and the users of these human resources (the industries) likewise the government who is responsible for formulating the policies that guides the activities of these institutions.
