The Maritme Reporters Association of NIgeria (MARAN) is set to celebrate its 34th years of robust reportage of the Maritme Industry on December 9 ,2022 in Lagos .
A statement issued in lagos on Tuesday by the Chairman planning committee of the 34th Anniversary and Awards , Mr. Dapo Olawuni disclosed that the event earlier scheduled to hold on November 28 , 2022 will now hold on December 9 ,2022 at the prestigious Providence Hotel, GRA ikeja at 4pm.
According to Mr. Olawuni Minister for Transportation , Engr Muazu jaji Sambo has indicated his interest to personally attend the function.
Former Director General of Nimasa, Dr. Ade Dosunmu is expected to be the chairman of the epoch making event.
The Association has lined up critical stakeholders and speakers to xtray the theme of the Anniversary tagged : 16 years of Port concession : “THE PAINS AND THE GAINS “.
” The Association plans to draw the attention of the federal Government on the need to further review the port concession era and to examine the opportunities posed by the building of new ports, especially the much celebrated Lekki Deep seaport .”
The Director- General of Nimasa , Dr. Bashir Jamoh, Managing Director of NPA, Muhammed Bello-Koko and over 250 Maritme Industry stakeholders are also expected to Grace the occasion.
The event will feature Award presentation to the Honourable Minister for Transportation Engr Muazu jaji Sambo, Presidential flagbearer of New NIgeria peoples party (NNPP) , Alhaji Rabiu Musa kwankwaso, comptroller- General of NIgeria customs service, Col Hameed Ali , Chairman of National Drug law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), Brig Gen Buba Marwa (Rtd) and stakeholders in NIgeria’s maritime industry
MARAN was established in 1988 and is an affiliate of the NIgerian union of journalists.
